BANDAI NAMCO trademarked a new title, “My Hero Ultra Rumble,” which hopeful fans think might be a warriors / musou game set in the My Hero Academia universe.

BANDAI NAMCO and Koei Tecmo had great success with the One Piece musou game One Piece Pirate Warriors. Aside from their collaborations with BANDAI NAMCO, Koei Tecmo has brought some anime titles into the musou genre. We've had musou adaptations of Fist of the North Star and Gundam. Is it time for My Hero Academia to join this growing list of anime musou titles?

It might seem to be the case, given that BANDAI NAMCO has just trademarked My Hero Ultra Rumble. Speculations are running high on what this means, but sources point towards a new game. It's not sure that we're getting a new musou game, but the title suggests so. One reason why this might be a musou game stems from the fact that My Hero Academia already has a couple of video game titles, but none in the musou genre. We have 3D fighting games, gacha games on smartphones, and arcade games. Hence, a fresh new trademark might point towards the next level of anime video games: a musou game.

Meanwhile, what we know for sure is Koei Tecmo hasn't officially talked about developing any other musou game apart from Dynasty Warriors 9: Empires right now. Perhaps it might take a couple of months down the pipeline before we find out what new My Hero Academia game this is. But hopefully, we won't wait for long.
