As Barcelona is still dealing with multiple notable financial dilemmas, the club is looking to once and for all resolve the long-term future of midfielder Philippe Coutinho.

As noted by the Italian-based outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport, Barcelona is well still interested in offloading Coutinho over the ongoing summer transfer window, which will close in mere weeks.

Barca is quite desperate to find a suitor for Coutinho that it is not only open to a loan agreement for him, but club officials would pay 50 percent of his €9 million salary due this season in such a deal.

For the moment, Barca is still yet to find a club willing to pay €4.5 million for one season of the Brazilian midfielder.

Coutinho was previously linked with clubs such as reigning Serie A winners Inter Milan and reigning FA Cup winners Leicester City. The former showed more interest in signing Coutinho, although the Serie A side reportedly wanted the midfielder to lower his wages by a significant amount before even considering taking him in for this season.

At the moment, Coutinho is slated to feature for Barca this season, where he will get yet another opportunity to redeem himself to the club. The midfielder has failed to meet expectations ever since joining the club from Liverpool on a €160 million deal coupled with add-ons over the 2018 winter transfer window.

Regardless of which club Coutinho will end up featuring at this season, he surely will have high expectations to show glimpses of the world-class form that Liverpool fans were often accustomed to seeing from him several years ago. The former Premier League star has simply had a difficult time mirroring this form over into his current run with Barca, although he did show early promise during his first year with the Catalan giants.
