Current FC Barcelona President Joan Laporta drops a truth bomb on trying to sign Paris Saint-Germain star, Neymar, over the summer.

FC Barcelona has been having major financial problems in recent memory, resulting in the loss of club legend Lionel Messi. Major club icons like Gerard Pique and Jordi Alba have been forced to take pay cuts so that the organization can financially survive.

Despite leaving Camp Nou for PSG in 2017, Neymar has been consistently involved in rumors of a possible reunion with Barcelona.

With the ongoing chaos in Camp Nou, Laporta went on to sign star players like Memphis Depay and Sergio Aguero and had planned on including a familiar face.

“As the numbers were explained to us, we thought there was room to do it,” Laporta said to RAC1. “We didn't have our due diligence done.

“They told us that he wanted to come and that he couldn't continue there, having convinced the club [to let him leave].

Based on Barcelona's recent form, Neymar's reunion with the club would've helped a team that has been showing signs of significant struggle. However, a transfer like this is just too good to be true.

“Neymar could have generated a lot of income, but not signing him has been a good thing.”

Barcelona fans might have to wait longer, and with PSG's current roster, it may be difficult to sign the Brazilian soon.
