Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman says his team will come into El Clasico with confidence and no fear whatsoever as they host Real Madrid this weekend.

Following a disastrous run of form of only 1 win in 6 matches, Ronald Koeman was put under pressure from the Barcelona community. Fans were asking for his head, but Laporta gave him a vote of confidence to stay at the club for the time being.

Coming off of back-to-back wins against Valencia and Dynamo Kyiv, a third win on the bounce would allow Barca to overtake Real Madrid in the league standings. Koeman seems more confident about his side's chances at pulling off an upset against favored Real Madrid.

Via Sam Marsden and Moises Llorens of ESPN:

“We have to play without fear. We're confident. We know what we can do and we want to show that. We are at home, we will have our fans behind us and I'm not going into the game with any fear.”

Koeman reiterates that the Clasico is one of the most important games for Barca this season — it's a chance to show improvement and direction. Though Koeman understands that the result of the game would be important but not decisive as there are still many games to be played in the season.

With Real Madrid looking like the stronger of the two clubs at the moment, Barca fans around the world will be hopeful Koeman and his side can fend off pressure from in-form stars Karim Benzema and Vinicius Jr. to pull off the win this weekend.
