The Erling Haaland saga set to sweep Europe this summer will be one of the biggest transfer stories in soccer history, and Barcelona is keen to get involved. It's widely assumed that the Norwegian superstar will leave Borussia Dortmund in the summer transfer window, as a release clause in his contract will be made active. Despite him being available at a discounted rate, the overall cost of any deal for Haaland is still expected to be tremendous. For Barca fans hoping to land the 21-year-old, reports indicate it'll cost the club upwards of €250 million ($273 million).

Haaland's release clause is set at €75 million, but when taking into account additional finances, including a signing bonus, wages, agent fee, and more, the deal could end up costing Barca as much as €250 million, and potentially even more. Of course, that's the price it would cost any club to land the coveted Norwegian, but considering Barcelona's recent financial woes, they may well be priced out. The opportunity to sign a player of Haaland's caliber only comes around ever so often, though, so perhaps Barcelona will look to find a way to get it done.
Other teams known to be interested in Haaland include Manchester City, PSG, and Real Madrid, all of whom could be in play to land the superstar this summer.
This season in the Bundesliga, Haaland has scored 16 goals in 14 matches, also providing 6 assists. Since joining Dortmund in 2019, the 21-year-old has featured in 57 league games for the club, tallying a total of 56 goals and 14 assists.
