With Xavi recently taking the helm at Barcelona, fans are left to ponder on who his transfer targets might be. Surprisingly, it is rumored that Xavi has an interest in signing his former teammate Dani Alves who is currently a free agent.

Dani Alves is undoubtedly one of the greatest fullbacks to ever grace the game of football. He is most famous for his assistive attacking prowess that has allowed stars like Lionel Messi and Neymar Jr. to thrive with a surplus amount of goals.

The Brazilian left Barcelona back in 2016 to join Paris Saint-Germain where he managed to grow his exemplary trophy collection before returning back to his home country in 2019.

Currently, Alves has remains a free agent after being released by Sao Paulo. To much surprise, it is reported that Alves has attracted his former club into resigning him after the arrival of former teammate and fellow Barca legend Xavi Hernandez as the new club manager. The decorated Barca legend reveals that it would be an absolute pleasure to return to Barca but he also understands that it seems to be a long shot.

“It would sound very opportunistic to say that Barca need me now. I’ve said that when Barca need me and want me, I would be at their disposal regardless of where I am.'”

Nevertheless, Barca fans await Xavi's front office decisions and heavily anticipate his first match at the club after the international break.
