Baron Davis played in the NBA for 13 years, spanning the entire first decade of the millennium. A former All-Star, Davis played for the Charlotte/New Orleans Hornets, Golden State Warriors, L.A. Clippers, Cleveland Cavaliers, and New York Knicks.

In an appearance on FOX's First Things First with Cris Carter, Nick Wright, and Jenna Wolfe, Baron Davis details the five players who carried the flag for his era. Mind that Davis played from 1999 to 2012, a period where the NBA transitioned from the time of Michael Jordan, Karl Malone, Hakeem Olajuwon, et al. to a then-new breed of stars.

In the segment, Davis dropped the most obvious names: Allen Iverson, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Tim Duncan, Shaquille O'Neal.

That list is extremely hard to contest. O'Neal, Bryant, and Duncan were the superstars who owned most of the championships during that period. Iverson and James were transcendent players in terms of culture and pure all-around brilliance, respectively.

O'Neal and Iverson are now in the Hall of Fame, while Bryant, Duncan, and James are sure-fire first ballot honorees when their time to grace the halls of Springfield come.

Not to be discounted, Baron Davis held his own among the superstars of his era. His career year came in 2003-04 where he averaged 22.9 points, 4.3 rebounds, 7.5 assists, and 2.5 steals per contest for the New Orleans Hornets.
