The ex-girlfriend of Bayern Munich center-back Jerome Boateng in Kasia Lenhardt reportedly committed suicide a week after her split with the German football player. As per Daily Mail UK, Lenhardt passed away on the day of her son Noah's sixth birthday.

She was found dead at a luxury apartment reportedly owned by Boateng located in Berlin's Charlottenborg neighborhood. Lenhardt was located at the property by the police on Tuesday night.

An unnamed friend of hers proceeded to share more details surrounding the incident:

“Yesterday was her son Noah's birthday. Kasia was at home on her own. A member of her family called the police because they could not get hold of her and they were worried.”

“She died a week after Jerome Boateng gave an interview in which he said their relationship was over. He said some really nasty things about Kasia. She was very upset by it.”

Both Boateng and Lenhardt have been dating for 15 months before they fired shots at each other via social media and the press. Their exchange eventually led to a split dating back to Feb. 2.

Boateng reportedly accused Lenhardt of blackmailing him by claiming fake accusations of domestic abuse in an interview with Bild. He also tagged his ex-girlfriend as an alcoholic.

Moreover, the 32-year-old veteran admitted that he cheated on his other ex Rebecca Silvera to be with Lenhardt instead. He reportedly tried to make things work between them but Lenhardt was manipulative and even threatened to ruin his playing career. Lenhardt fired back at the accusations and eventually branded Jerome Boateng as the ‘devil' while claiming that she will speak up after she gets to recover from the break-up.

Boateng was suiting up for Bayern Munich in Qatar for the FIFA Club World Cup at the time of the incident. His team advanced to the tournament's final after emerging victorious in a 2-0 win against Egyptian squad Al Ahly SC. In the aftermath of the incident, head coach Hansi Flick has confirmed that Boateng won't be playing with the team ‘until further notice'.
