At the age of 33, Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski has managed to prolong the prime days of his career.

Lewandowski is currently posting another standout campaign in Bundesliga play with seven goals scored. Overall, he sits at 13 goals scored in all competitions for the German powerhouse this season.

Much has been talked about with Lewandowski's future at Bayern, especially as he has been in the rumor mill for years over a possible departure. But as he noted to the Spanish-based outlet Marca, he is simply focused on the current season.

“I'm not really thinking about that,” Lewandowski said. “We're just starting the season. We're only two months into it. I've got two years on my contract.”

As mentioned, Lewandowski has been linked with moves away from Bayern Munich, including with Real Madrid. One report over the recent summer transfer window noted that the Bundesliga star was eyeing a move to the La Liga powerhouse.

These such rumors are far from new. Last year, the reigning European Golden Boot winner confirmed he had a previous interest in signing with Los Blancos. He noted that he was “thinking” about such a move.

Lewandowski further mentioned last month that he once had talks with Real Madrid president Florentino Perez, although he did not reveal the specifics of the conversation.

For now, as Lewandowski also touched on, he is much eyeing this season and its potential. For one, he sees Bayern is once again among the favorites in the UEFA Champions League competition.

“Yes, one of the candidates to win it like every year,” Lewandowski said. “We are always there, among the favorites, like some other teams. What's really important is how we get to March, April, May, but Bayern are always on the list of favorites.”

Lewandowski and his Bayern Munich side will return to Champions League action with an away group stage match against Benfica next week.
