The Chicago Bears were one of the top teams in the NFL last season. After suffering through years of mediocrity, the team finally turned things around with new head coach Matt Nagy taking things over. In his first year as the team's head coach, he completely transformed the offense and Vic Fangio led them to one of the top defenses in the league.

Unfortunately, Fangio left this offseason to become the new head coach of the Denver Broncos. Chuck Pagano was brought in to replace him and the team has had nothing but good things to say about their new defensive coordinator.

Chicago has started the preseason 0-2 after losing to the New York Giants this week by a final score of 32-13. It hasn't been pretty, but thankfully preseason games don't matter one bit in the grand scheme of things.

Nagy and company are looking to take the next step this season. Mitchell Trubisky and the rest of the team still has a sour taste in their mouths from last years playoff loss against the Philadelphia Eagles.

All of that being said, let's dive in and take a look at the three top performances from the Bears' second preseason outing against the Giants.

3. Josh Woods, Linebacker

Many fans will have no clue who Josh Woods is, but he had a big game against the Giants this week. He ended up recording eight total tackles, including one tackle for a loss.

Woods is a former standout at Maryland who is looking to make the Bears' roster and provide depth at the linebacker position. Being able to win a spot on a very talented defense won't be easy, but this kind of performance will certainly help. If he can keep playing like this during the final two weeks of preseason action, he will give himself a shot at making the final 53-man roster.

2. Clifton Duck, Cornerback

Clifton Duck is one of the best names in the entire league. Not many people will question that, but fans are questioning whether or not Duck will be able to make the final roster. He did himself a favor with a good performance against the Giants.

He ended up recording one tackle, one defended pass, and an interception that he returned for 62 yards. Not bad for the rookie cornerback out of Appalachian State. Duck has some work to do to earn a spot for himself, but that kind of impact and playmaking ability will certainly help his cause.

1. Javon Wims, Wide Receiver

Finally, we couldn't get out of this article without mentioning the big game that wide receiver Javon Wims put together. Quite a few people in Chicago are very high on this young receiver. He ended up catching five passes for 64 yards against the Giants this week.

Wims is competing to make a roster with quite a few options at wide receiver. He played in four games as a rookie last season for the Bears, catching four passes for 32 yards. This year, he seems to have a good chance to make the roster once again, especially if he keeps playing like he did this week.
