The Chicago Bears are starting to crumble. After a 3-1 start to the year, they have lost five of their last six games. That puts them at 4-6 and in absolutely desperate need of a win in Week 12 against the New York Giants.

However, in order to win, they will need a few players to step up. One that everyone has been waiting to break out for quite a few weeks now is Khalil Mack.

Mack made pretty serious cases for Defensive Player of the Year and MVP last season.

Things started off great for him in 2019 as well. Through the first four weeks of the season, Mack had 4.5 sacks and four forced fumbles. Since then, he's had only one sack, and no forced fumbles.

Clearly, something isn't clicking at the moment. Something is not right.

The Bears need Mack to figure it out though. He was an absolute game changer last season. Mack's talent helped get Chicago's defense off the field quick. It got the Bears' offense the ball in great position countless times, and it helped mask a lot of the offense's problems.

Against the Giants is the perfect time for a breakout performance from Mack.

First off, New York is a beatable team. They are just 2-8 with a miserable defense, and a lot of problems on offense.

The biggest problem they have on offense? Turnovers from the quarterback. Rookie Daniel Jones has been really good overall. However, he's had serious issues holding on to the ball.

Through nine games, Jones has 15 touchdown passes and two touchdown runs. He also has eight interceptions and 13 fumbles though.

What's Mack best at doing? Getting to the quarterback and forcing the ball loose.

So he's going up against a team with a struggling offensive line and a quarterback who is known to fumble often. That could be setting up Mack for a big game. I'm talking multiple sacks and multiple forced fumbles is not out of the question.

He needs to do just that too. Mack needs to re-establish himself as one of the best in the game. Yes, all his impact does not come from racking up sacks and forced fumbles. However, those are the two things that put him on the map the most.

And if the Bears are to turn their season around, they need Mack to be that beast again. The problem is, time is running out. So Chicago needs to start winning the games that they should win.

Going up against a 2-8 New York team that's had some truly bad losses this year is a start. That's a team you have to beat. And the best way to beat a team is to exploit their weaknesses.

The Giants have a major weakness in the turnovers Jones coughs up. That's Mack's specialty. Time for him to go to work.
