Chicago Bears defensive end Khalil Mack has continued his dominance in the 2018 NFL season. Not surprisingly, Hall of Fame linebacker Brian Urlacher has high expectations for him.

Chicago received some criticism for paying such a hefty price tag to acquire Mack. However, Urlacher said during an appearance on First Things First that the trade has paid off tremendously:

“I couldn't believe we got him in the first place,” Urlacher said. “For two first-round picks, for nothing in my opinion. You get a player that has Hall of Fame potential, has already proven himself to do what he did—then to get him for two first-round picks? He's made a huge difference already. You look at how well they played the first couple of weeks. They've struggled the last couple weeks—good offenses—but I'm excited. I know the city of Chicago is excited. Every Bears fan is excited about the situation. And Mitch [Trubisky] is playing well along with Khalil doing a good job on defense.”

There is certainly plenty of truth to Urlacher's comments. The Bears paid a steep price to bring Mack to Chicago in exchange for two first-round picks. However, it is clear that a player of Mack's caliber cannot be found in every draft.

Mack has already built up quite an impressive resume of the Hall of Fame. He has been selected to three Pro Bowls, two first-team All-Pro selections, and the NFL's Defensive Player of the year award. The Bears star has put in an early bid for his second DPOY this season by registering 20 tackles, 5.0 sacks, four forced fumbles, and an interception that he returned for a touchdown.

More importantly, he has seemingly ignited Chicago's solid play this season. The Bears already had plenty of promising, young talent on their defense. However, Mack's arrival certainly sped up the process. Although they have invested plenty of picks in recent years, it has clearly started to pay off for the Bears
