There will be a lot of safeties in the market when free agency opens next month, and one of the top ones is Bears safety Adrian Amos. While he's “prepared for all scenarios,” he “would like to be back” in Chicago, Amos told Sirius XM's The Opening Drive in an interview.

Amos professed an affinity for the Bears and a desire to stick with the team, but he's keeping his options open and isn't naive about the business.

“There could be a chance I’m anywhere. The business part of it, it’s complicated sometimes…that’s the crazy thing about this situation where my contract’s up so anything could really happen. I’m just sitting back and really waiting to see what happens,” he explained.

Interestingly, Amos did float one potential spot he could land if he does end up leaving the Bears.

“Obviously (Denver) would be a fit where I know the defense and things like that,” Amos declared.

Amos' defensive coordinator in Chicago the past several seasons, Vic Fangio, recently left to become the head coach of the Broncos.

He did confirm the team is interested in re-signing him, saying, “Chicago has been talking back and forth, they want me back.”

If he doesn't strike a deal with the Bears before the market opens, he'll likely have no shortage of suitors. Amos received an 82.7 grade from Pro Football Focus this past season, the eighth best number for any safety. Amos was a fifth round pick out of Penn State back in 2015, but has blossomed since entering the league. He became an immediate starter as a rookie, and has started 56 games over the past four years. Last year, he had two interceptions and nine pass breakups, and added a sack and a fumble recovery.
