Chicago Bears Pro Bowl defensive end Akiem Hicks has been fined $15,000 for committing two roughing the passer penalties in Week 3 against Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

The Bears pulled off an impressive comeback win over the Falcons in Week 3 after Chicago head coach Matt Nagy benched quarterback Mitchell Trubisky for Nick Foles, who threw three touchdowns and one interception.

Akiem Hicks and the Bears' defense also stepped up late in the fourth quarter by getting pressure on Matt Ryan and forcing the former MVP to throw a game-ending interception to preserve Chicago's comeback victory in Atlanta.

The Bears will look to improve to 4-0 in Week 4 when they host Philip Rivers and the Indianapolis Colts at Soldier Field.

Thus far on the season, Hicks has 3.5 sacks for the Bears and nine solo tackles. Chicago's defense finally has a quarterback who can put some points on the board in Nick Foles, so that will definitely help ease the pressure off of Hicks and Co.

The Bears missed the playoffs last season after winning the NFC North in 2018. The entire Chicago team took a step back in 2019, not just Mitchell Trubisky, who actually made the Pro Bowl in 2018.

With Foles now leading the way, the hope in Chicago is that the Bears can get back to the playoffs. They are currently tied with the Green Bay Packers for first place in the NFC North standings.
