Chicago Bears receiver Allen Robinson certainly didn't have a bad season last year, but he also didn't play quite up to the level he is capable of. The Bears gave Robinson a big contract to lure him away from the Jaguars, and he immediately became Chicago's top receiving option.

In 2018 he put up 55 catches for 754 yards and four touchdowns, which is nothing to sneeze at. In his last two healthy years in Jacksonville though, he put up a combined 153 catches for 2,283 yards and 20 touchdowns. He tore his ACL in the first game of the 2017 season, and last year was his first action back.

Now another year removed from that injury, Robinson feels more like himself heading into 2019.

“I think that was the biggest difference,” Robinson said, via Alyssa Barbieri of The Bears Wire. “Last year I didn’t start running routes until about June. Being able to have that 8-10 week span before training camp — on my own — to be able to get a lot of work in, I think that was the most beneficial.”

Robinson feels like having a full offseason under his belt with his new team will help him a lot, and that makes plenty of sense.

“I look like a totally different player,” he continued. “It’s one of those things, everybody says it takes time. You want to be back at that as soon as possible. Last year, I thought through each week of the season I thought I progressed and got better every week. It’s still been like that throughout camp.”

Robinson was also playing with a new quarterback in Mitchell Trubisky, and he's now had more time to build that relationship as well.

Now fully healthy and with what should be better chemistry with Trubisky, Robinson could be in for a big season.
