The Chicago Bears didn't expect to have Allen Robinson available on Sunday, but his status has quickly changed. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Robinson has cleared concussion protocol and is expected to play versus the New Orleans Saints in Week 8.

During Chicago's Monday night contest versus the Los Angeles Rams, Robinson left the game late in the fourth quarter. After making a catch from Nick Foles, Robinson took a hit to the head and was sidelined for the rest of the game.

At the same time, he began the week in the league's concussion protocol. And with him not being able to clear the protocol ahead of Friday, he was given a doubtful designation on the injury report.

However, on Saturday, the Pro Bowl wide receiver was able to clear the protocol and has made enough progress to play. There's no reason to believe that Robinson won't see his usual target share against a Saints defense that has been susceptible against the pass. New Orleans has given up a 111.6 passer rating to quarterbacks this season, which is the second-worst mark in the NFL.

Through the first seven weeks, Robinson has been one of the few consistent options in Chicago's offense. While leading the Bears with 70 targets thus far, he has caught 44 passes for 544 yards and two touchdowns.

Without Robinson in the offense, the Bears would have leaned on Darnell Mooney and Anthony Miller at wide receiver more often. But luckily for Chicago and Foles, in a pivotal game against New Orleans, they'll have Robinson available in the aerial attack.
