Chicago Bears wide receiver Allen Robinson has heard the rumors about the COVID-19 pandemic affecting the NFL salary cap, but it's not something he thinks is going to have a big impact on his future contract negotiations.

Robinson is entering his final year of his contract and there was some thought before that he could get an extension this offseason. With teams questioning about what the salary cap will be going forward, Robinson might not get that extension. He said, via SI.com,

“If something gets done, something gets done … But at the end of the day that's left up to the Bears and my agent. But for me personally, to be quite honest, I don't really concern myself with that too much.

“I'm just looking forward to this 2020 season. I'm definitely excited for it. I'm definitely ready to get going. Whatever happens, happens.”

During the 2019 season, Robinson caught 98 passes for 1,147 yards and seven touchdowns. Whoever is the starting quarterback for the Bears in 2020 will be looking Robinson's way a lot. And that could result in a lucrative new deal for Robinson, whenever it may come.
