The Chicago Bears are mired by a brutal slump, and that could see head coach Matt Nagy tossed to the wayside. Recent rumors suggest that the Bears could be considering firing Nagy following Chicago's Thanksgiving Day showdown with the Detroit Lions.

During his media session, Bears quarterback Andy Dalton, who will be starting in place of the injured Justin Fields on Thursday, took the time to offer some internet wisdom to the press, while simultaneously coming to the defense of his head coach. Per Bears beat writer Jason Lieser, Chicago's sage advice was “don't click on things you shouldn't click on.”

Nagy, of course, has faced a ton of scrutiny of late. An additional rumor suggested the Bears head coach had lost the locker room, and that many players were hopeful he'd be fired this season. The Bears have lost five straight games and have fielded a stagnant offense week after week.

While Dalton may not feel Nagy has lost the locker room, he has definitely lost the support of the fan base, who have been vocal in their displeasure with the fourth-year head coach. With the results not coming in, patience is wearing thin in the Windy City, and Nagy will need a quick turnaround in order to have any job security going forward.

The Bears head coach has a 31-28 record across four seasons at the helm, but after a 3-7 start to the 2021 season, his future with the franchise is in jeopardy. He'll hope Dalton can provide a big performance and help secure a win over the Lions on Thanksgiving to perhaps offer him some protection.
