Chicago Bears wide receiver Anthony Miller needs shoulder surgery for the second time in as many years general manager Ryan Pace announced on Tuesday. Miller was returned during the Bears week 17 against the Minnesota Vikings on a kick return.

Miller dislocated his shoulder multiple times during the 2018 season which forced him to have surgery during the last offseason. He missed all of OTA's recovering from it and that is the expectation this year.

He is expected to be ready for the start of training camp, but it's still disappointing that he is going to miss valuable time with the team.

“It’s unfortunate it happened, and you’ve got to stay positive about it,” Nagy said via Colleen Kane of Chicago Tribune. “We’ve got to make sure that we keep him mentally in it, and then when we get back to training camp, we pick up from there.

“I’m really proud of the way that he grew. He needs to keep maturing on the field with some of the stuff — post-catch type deals. He’s been better at that. I think that his talent is there, and I love his energy. But we want him to keep growing as a player, especially on the field with being smart.”

Miller had a strong finish to the season before his injury and the hope was he could grow more during the offseason. Miller finished the season catching 52 passes for 656 yards and two touchdowns. Mitchell Trubisky needs as many playmakers as possible and Miller was quickly growing into it.
