Headng into his second year in the league, Chicago Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky has a tremendous level of expectations on his shoulders to take a significant step forward.

Throughout the last couple of months of the offseason, he has continued to garner the praise of his teammates and coaches about his presence and play on the field. Denver Broncos general manager John Elway has joined that growing list of those impressed by the 23-year-old, according to Adam L. Jahns of The Chicago Sun-Times.

“I liked Mitch coming out,” Elway said. “I think he’s a young guy that I’m sure [now] that he’s in his second camp, and things are a little bit more clear . . . [he has a] good feel [after] having played as much as he played last year and going through his first year.

“I think that Mitch has got a lot of talent, that he’s got a chance to have a real successful career, and they continue to make strides. It’s always hard, and then they’re going through another offense. He’s put in a new offensive system that he’s got to get used to, too. [But] physically, he’s got all the tools.”

This has only added to the building buzz around Trubisky as there is a huge amount of belief that he can take that next step toward becoming a legitimate franchise quarterback. He has the physical ability and talent to fulfill that vaunted role with the Bears, it may just be a matter of taking advantage of the opportunity in front of him.

Chicago has added more help to aid that effort this upcoming season with the addition of several offensive weapons such as wide receivers Allen Robinson and Taylor Gabriel along with tight end Trey Burton. The team already possesses a talented backfield with running backs Jordan Howard and Tarik Cohen.

The pieces are in place for Trubisky to not only take a leap forward in his maturation but also lead the Bears to much success on the field in 2018.
