The Chicago Bears, in their 17-7 loss to the Los Angeles Rams, did not give the keys of the offense to their young starter Mitchell Trubisky. Instead, head coach Matt Nagy handed the rock over to veteran Chase Daniels.

The Bears did not bench Trubisky for Daniels. Instead, the quarterback suffered a hip injury in the loss, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. He was questionable to return in the game. His status for the rest of the season is unknown.

While Trubisky did reportedly suffer an injury, there is a reason to believe that he was benched flat-out. The 2017 No. 2 overall pick delivered yet another disappointing performance in the loss. He went 24 for 43 passing for 190 yards, one touchdown and an interception.

Heading into the loss, Trubisky had passed for 1,390 yards, eight touchdowns and three interceptions on a 63.6% completion rate with an 85.2 passer rating.

Trubisky, despite being a Pro Bowler in his second season, is proving one thing in Chicago: he isn't the answer. Hip injury or not, the former North Carolina Tarheel has disappointed in 2019. It appears as if the end could be near, even though he does still have a year left on his rookie contract.

Going forward, the Bears may continue to play Trubisky, if his hip injury isn't bad. However, in the offseason, expect them to make an upgrade at the position. It could be a trade, for potentially Cam Newton, a free agency pickup (Ryan Tannehill, anybody?) or the NFL Draft (though they don't have a first). Change may be coming.
