The recent week has been drama-filled for both the Chicago Bears and their wide receiver Allen Robinson amid contract negotiations. The seven-year veteran took his frustrations to Instagram where he deleted all his posts referencing the team.

Amidst the uncertainty between the two sides, several teams also expressed their interest in acquiring the services of the former Penn State Nittany Lion. The Bears quickly shunned the calls and renewed their efforts in getting an extension done for Robinson.

The team also recently locked up another expiring contract in running back Tarik Cohen. Allen Robinson could be next in line to get his well-deserved paycheck after many of the league's marquee wideouts were already previously paid – namely DeAndre Hopkins, Keenan Allen, Amari Cooper, Cooper Kupp, and Robert Woods.

The Michigan native started his career with the Jacksonville Jaguars after being drafted in the 2014 NFL Draft. He went on to have a breakout campaign during his second season in the league where he tallied a career-high 1,400 receiving yards on 80 receptions en route to his first Pro Bowl appearance.

His tenure with the Jags concluded during the 2017 season where he sustained a torn ACL injury which prematurely ended his campaign. On March of 2018, he moved on and found a new home with the Chicago Bears where he signed a 3-year contract. Last season, Robinson managed to appear in all 16 games for the team and recorded a total of 1,147 receiving yards on a career-best 98 receptions as a full-fledged starter.

With contract talks seemingly trending towards the right direction, fans would eventually be able to see the wideout don the colors of Chicago for the seasons to come.
