If 2020 has taught us all something, it's that nothing is set in stone with COVID-19. After the initial announcement on Wednesday that the Chicago Bears shut down their facility ahead of their Week 9 matchup against the Tennessee Titans, a new report says the team has now been cleared by the league to open up Halas Hall again as early as Friday.

Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune took to Twitter to report that the Bears was already given the go signal by the league office to resume training before the week ends under the league's intensive protocol. This gives Chicago a chance to get at least one more training session in before their ninth game of the season.

The initial shut down was due to another case of coronavirus to hit the team just a few days after OT Jason Spriggs tested positive and was put in the COVID-19 reserve list. As a result, the entire team was limited to video meetings as they were waiting for the league to conduct a thorough investigation of the matter. Fortunately, the Bears organization was able to sort things out and make the necessary adjustment to get clearance from the NFL.

The Bears will look to bounce back after back-to-back losses against the Los Angeles Rams and the New Orleans Saints. Their Week 8 defeat against the Saints was a rather heartbreaking one as they lost 26-23 in OT. QB Nick Foles and the rest of the Bears will look to avoid a third straight loss against the Titans on Monday as they try to shrug all these COVID-19 distractions off and try to catch the Green Bay Packers in the NFC North Division standings.
