The Chicago Bears seem to have finally found their answer at kicker in Eddy Pineiro but a minor injury scare could keep him for playing on Monday. Despite his knee injury, though, Chicago is confident that Pineiro will play in Week 3 versus the Washington Redskins.

There was pandemonium in Week 2 after Pineiro nailed a 53-yard, game-winning field goal to secure Chicago's first win of the season. After he made the field goal, the entire sideline of the Bears was elated knowing they have their long-term solution at their kicker position.

But on Friday, the Bears placekicker injured his knee during a workout in the weight room. Luckily for Chicago, Matt Nagy described the injury as “minor” and expects him to suit up on Monday.

So far this season, Pineiro has been highly efficient with his field goals and extra-point attempts. As a matter of fact, the Bears kicker has made every field-goal try and extra-point that he has attempted (4-4 on field goals, 1-1 on extra points).

However, the Bears offense has had trouble finding the end zone this season. Due to this, Pineiro hasn't had many opportunities to take the field to tack on another point after a touchdown. Chicago scored their first and only touchdown of the season last week versus the Broncos.

As long as Pineiro continues to put the ball through the uprights, Nagy is going to remain confident in him at kicker. Hopefully, this knee injury doesn't worsen moving forward. If it does, the fans in the Windy City will likely begin to believe their city is cursed at kicker.
