Mitchell Trubisky and the Chicago Bears came into Week 14 needing a win to stay alive in the NFC playoff race. While they have had a rough all-around season, they were able to get the job done against the Dallas Cowboys. When everything was said and done, the Bears came away with a 31-24 victory on Thursday Night Football.

Following the game, Pro Football Talk shared an article about how the Bears are rallying around their “leader” in Trubisky.

“We followed our leader Mitch,” running back David Montgomery said. “For me, it’s like a ‘ah-ha!’ moment. Because you see somebody work so hard day-in and day-out. But you’re finally able to see it. A lot of people kind of jumped ship on 10, but Coach Nagy always preaches about staying together as one, and Mitch steps up. I’m just happy for him and happy he’s our quarterback.”

David Montgomery wasn't the only one who views Trubisky as their leader. Chicago wide receiver Anthony Miller also spoke out about his quarterback after the team's big win.

“He’s been a leader. A lot of people have been doubting him, calling him this, that and the third. But we’ve been rocking with him in this locker room. We’ve always had confidence in him, coach has had confidence in him, and he’s just showing y’all we he can do. It’s no surprise to us.”

Trubisky ended up completing 23 of his 31 pass attempts for 244 yards, three touchdowns, and an interception. He also racked up 63 yards and a touchdown on the ground. That kind of performance can help a team go on a run.

Only time will tell if the Bears can rebound from their rough start to make the playoffs, but this is a big step in the right direction.
