Lamar Miller hasn't suited up in a regular-season contest since the end of the 2018 season, but he'll make his debut with the Chicago Bears on Monday night. With David Montgomery being ruled out, the Bears have promoted Miller from their practice squad ahead of their matchup with the Minnesota Vikings.

During last week's bout with the Tennessee Titans, Montgomery suffered a head injury in Chicago's loss. Montgomery would be unable to clear the NFL's concussion protocol throughout the week and was ruled out versus the Vikings.

As a result of Montgomery being sidelined, the Bears are left with Cordarrelle Patterson, Ryan Nall, and Artavis Pierce. But with none of them having much experience at the running back position, Miller could provide them with a veteran presence.

Miller missed the entire 2019 season after sustaining a torn ACL with the Houston Texans in the preseason. The Miami product spent a short time with the New England Patriots in training camp this offseason before being released.

The last time we saw Miller play an extended period of time in 2018, he was the No. 1 back for the Texans. While starting 14 games in 2018, Miller scampered for 973 yards and five touchdowns on 210 carries.

Despite being activated to the 53-man roster, it is unknown what Miller's role will be in his first game with the Bears. There's a chance Matt Nagy elects to use all of his running backs until one of them shows a hot hand.

At the least, Miller will get a chance to see some action for the first time in two years.
