The Chicago Bears are releasing a couple of notable players on Friday, as they are parting ways with wide receiver Taylor Gabriel and cornerback Prince Amukamara, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Gabriel is coming off of a disappointing and injury-plagued 2019 campaign in which he played in just nine games and logged 29 catches for 353 yards and four touchdowns.

The 29-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Abilene Christian, went undrafted but eventually landed with the Cleveland Browns in 2014.

He had a solid rookie campaign, catching 36 passes for 621 yards and a touchdown.

Gabriel spent the first couple of years of his career with the Browns before linking up with the Atlanta Falcons in 2016, where he resided for two seasons. His most productive year with the Falcons came during his first season with the club, when he logged 35 grabs for 579 yards and six scores.

The Dallas native then joined the Bears in 2018 and went on to have the best season of his career, hauling in 67 receptions for 688 yards while reaching the end zone twice.

Meanwhile, Amukamara appeared in 15 contests in 2019, registering 53 tackles, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and 10 passes defended.

He spent three seasons in Chicago overall, with his best year coming in 2018 when he racked up 66 tackles, three interceptions, a pair of forced fumbles, 12 passes defended and a defensive touchdown.

The 30-year-old was initially drafted by the New York Giants back in 2011 and resided with the Giants for his first five seasons. Amukamara then spent one year with the Jacksonville Jaguars before joining the Bears.
