Not three weeks after Chicago Bears kicker Cody Parkey had a 43-yard field-goal blocked which resulted in a Wild Card Round playoff loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, the Bears have worked out kicker Nick Folk, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Parkey saw his attempt on Jan. 6 blocked by Eagles defensive lineman Treyvon Hester, but in real time, it looked like Parkey simply missed the kick, as it banged off the left upright and then bounced off of the crossbar before landing back on to the field, preserving a 16-15 Eagles victory.

The 26-year-old, who is under contract through 2021 but has a potential out in his deal this offseason, was then booed off of Soldier Field by Bears fans as he headed toward the locker room.

Folk did not kick for an NFL team in 2018, but he has plenty of experience, suiting up for the Dallas Cowboys, New York Jets and Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 2007 through 2017.

He last appeared with the Buccaneers last season, playing in four games before being released. While he was placed on the injured reserve list and then released, Tampa Bay's decision to part ways with Folk probably had a lot more to do with the fact that he missed three field goals in a Week 5 loss to the New England Patriots.

However, prior to 2017, Folk was actually a reliable kicker, making the Pro Bowl during his rookie campaign with the Cowboys in 2007 and posting two seasons where he made over 90 percent of his field goals.
