Chicago Bears free safety Eddie Jackson has made quite the impression on his new defensive coordinator Chuck Pagano who sees a lot of similarities to Ed Reed. Pagano was the defensive backs coach for the Ravens during Reed's prime so he worked with him every day and saw just what he could do on the field.

Pagano sees the same instincts and ball skills in Jackson that he saw every day with Reed, and he thinks the sky is the limit for him.

“From a talent standpoint? Very, very similar,” Pagano said via the Chicago Sun Times. “Great instincts. Great range. Great ball skills. He’s only three years into it. Ed has a lot more time on task, obviously. He’s got a lot of the same traits. He loves football. He’s a football junkie. And again, the sky’s the limit for a guy like that.

Jackson has the defense already figured out which gives him more time to figure out the offense, which gives me a big leg up.

“When you know the defense and you know what you’re doing and then you can spend all your time figuring out the offense and being one step ahead, that’s where he’s got an edge on everybody. He’s very similar to Reed.”

As good as Jackson has been he is still young entering his third year in the league. This is high praise for him but he needs to continue to work hard and keep improving his game.

He isn't as good as Reed yet but with hard work and dedication to the game, maybe he can go down as one of the best Bears in team history.
