After the disastrous outing from Andy Dalton in Week 13, the Chicago Bears are hoping to get rookie quarterback Justin Fields back on the field for Week 14. Based on the comments made by wide receiver Darnell Mooney, fans should be pretty optimistic about the chances of that happening.

Via Alex Shapiro of NBCS Chicago, Mooney suggested that Fields hasn't shown any indication that his ribs injury is bothering him.

No matter how you spin this, it's good news for the Bears. Either Fields is incredibly resilient and refuses to grimace despite the pain of a ribs injury, or the quarterback is nearing his return to action. Surely, fans will be hoping it's the latter.

Fields went down in the third quarter in Week 11 against the Baltimore Ravens after sustaining the ribs injury while running with the football. He did not return to the game, and Dalton entered the game in relief. Dalton started Chicago's next two games, but a four-interception performance on Sunday did little to inspire optimism in the Red Rifle going forward.

If Mooney's comments are an actual reflection of what the team has seen from Fields this week, then it sounds like there's a real chance he'll be under center in Week 14 against the Packers.

The Bears drafted Fields with the 12th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft out of Ohio State. The former Buckeye has started eight games for Chicago this season, throwing four touchdown passes and eight interceptions, while rushing 56 times for 311 yards and two touchdowns.
