The Chicago Bears have placed star safety Eddie Jackson on the Reserve/COVID-19 list, per Mark Grote of WSCR radio.

While Jackson did not test positive for COVID-19, he was deemed a close contact from a person away from the team and facility, meaning he could miss the Bears' Week 12 matchup against the Green Bay Packers.

The Bears are 5-5 on the season. They have lost four straight games after starting the season 5-1. The team will be heavy underdogs against the Packers, who are atop the NFC North standings have one of the best offenses in the NFL, led by Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams.

Eddie Jackson has zero interceptions on the season, though he does have one fumble recovery for a touchdown and 46 solo tackles. The Bears have one of the better defenses in the NFL, but since the team's offense is so putrid, Jackson and Co. have been on the field too much and get tired as the game moves along.

Even though the Bears are still alive for one of the Wild Card spots in the NFC, no one in Chicago is expecting the team to make the playoffs. Head coach Matt Nagy and general manager Ryan Pace are under fire from Bears fans since the team has regressed mightily after winning the NFC North in 2018.

The Bears and Packers will play on Sunday Night Football on NBC. Chicago is already 0-2 on the season in primetime games.
