The Chicago Bears selected safety Eddie Jackson out of Alabama in the fourth-round of the 2017 NFL Draft. He has proven that to be a fantastic pick, with a strong rookie year and an incredible sophomore season.

According to Jim Trotter of NFL.com, Jackson has an ultimate goal; get that gold jacket.

Not to patronize anyone, but in-case you aren't sure what that means – Jackson's talking about making the Hall of Fame.

That's a talk task for any player, but Jackson's definitely off to a good start. In two seasons he's racked up pretty big numbers and most importantly improved heavily in year two.

After picking up 73 tackles, six pass deflections, and two interceptions in 16 games his rookie year, Jackson went nuts in 2018. He appeared in only 14 games, but still managed 55 tackles and one sack, as well as 15 pass deflections and six interceptions. He's also already scored three defensive touchdowns.

Possibly even more important than the numbers though, Jackson's a main cog in an elite defense. He's helping to shut down every facet of opposing offenses and it's impossible to ignore.

The Bears look like they can be one of the best teams in the NFL for quite some time, and perennial Super Bowl contenders. Jackson could be a major reason for that. If that happens, he'll definitely get the exposure needed to make a strong run at a gold jacket.

Great play leads to winning and winning leads to recognition for that great play. Jackson and the Bears have proven they can do both. Now that we know Jackson's hunting for that gold jacket, let's see if he can keep it up.
