Coach hunting season is now in full swing in the NFL. With multiple teams with open head coach positions, there's a mad scramble to get the best coaches possible. The Chicago Bears are part of this coach hunt, as they fired Matt Nagy a few days after their season ended last week.

Multiple names have surfaced as candidates to be the next Bears coach. According to this rumor, you can now add former Indianapolis Colts and Detroit Lions coach Jim Caldwell to the growing list of potential coaches for Chicago. (via Jeremy Fowler)

Caldwell is just one of the many names that the Bears are looking at to fill their head coach position. Other names in the running include former Eagles coach Doug Pederson and former Dolphins coach Brian Flores. They look to bounce back after a disappointing 6 – 11 season under Matt Nagy.

There's plenty of reason why the Bears could be looking at Jim Caldwell as a potential coach for them. His debut for the Colts is still one of the best starts for a coach ever, coaching Peyton Manning and the team to a 14 – 2 record and a Super Bowl appearance. He'd make stops in Baltimore, Detroit, and Miami as either a head coach or an offensive coordinator, and has clearly had a significant impact on these teams.

If Caldwell does get the coaching gig in Chicago, he will have the pleasure of coaching another talented quarterback in Justin Fields. The Bears have some stiff competition for Caldwell's services, though, as the Jacksonville Jaguars have also interviewed the ex-Colts coach for their head coaching gig.
