Former Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler had a rather odd career. He went from being taunted by his own fans during his playing days to being a beloved figure in his post-playing career and praised for his incredible personality. Perhaps it comes with the territory of playing quarterback in Chicago.

Cutler has floated out of the spotlight since he's left the NFL and has popped up on the radar on just a couple of occasions. On Wednesday, he appeared on Pardon My Take, the popular Barstool Sports podcast. The former Bears QB1 made some eerie comments about his health during his playing days and specifically brought up his concussions and CTE.

“CTE is coming at some point … ” he said. “Without a doubt.” – Jay Cutler.

The former Chicago Bears gunslinger made the comments after mentioning that he's already started to have problems with his memory.

When asked about his concussion history, Cutler estimated that he's had somewhere around 15 in his life, while he was only documented with having two in his time with the Bears.

It's a sad reality for some NFL players that has really come into the spotlight in recent years. While many of the noted cases have circulated around lineman and defensive players, Cutler played at a time early in his career where quarterbacks weren't protected by rules nearly to the extent they are now.

Cutler believes it's a reality for most players.

“I think if you play long enough, it’s gonna happen to you.” – Cutler.

Here's to hoping the former Bears quarterback stays healthy after football and keeps providing laughs in his rare appearances.
