The Chicago Bears have activated safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix off the Physically Unable to Perform list, the team announced on Tuesday.

The 26-year-old missed the first few practices of training camp due to a sprained knee. The Bears said Clinton-Dix suffered the injury toward the end of spring practices in June. Deon Bush, a 2016 fourth-round pick who's spent most of his time on special teams, practiced with Chicago's first-string defense in the absence of Clinton-Dix, who will participate in his team's walk-through session on Tuesday.

Clinton-Dix signed a one-year deal with Chicago in March after finishing last season with the Washington Redskins. The Redskins acquired him from the Green Bay Packers midway through last season in exchange for a fourth-round pick. He struggled to match the success he enjoyed on a relatively consistent basis over his first four and-a-half years in the league, however, failing to pick off a pass and generally struggling when asked to make tackles on playmakers in space.

In nine games with Washington last season, Clinton-Dix had 66 combined tackles, three passes defensed, and one forced fumble. Washington, surprisingly, was more effective defensively before he joined the team, too.

Chicago also activated veteran offensive tackle T.J. Clemmings, who signed with the team in May. He finished last season on injured reserve with the Oakland Raiders, and was placed on PUP shortly after signing with the Bears.
