Justin Fields fires strong warning to Aaron Rodgers ahead of Bears vs. Packers
Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields is not worried about Green Bay Packers superstar Aaron Rodgers. Not that he’s confident he’s better, but he knows his focus should not be on individual battles.
Ahead of their Week 6 showdown with the Packers, the Bears rookie was asked about his thoughts on facing the reigning NFL MVP and one of the best quarterbacks in the league. Fields didn’t hold back, noting that it’s his job to lead his team to victory and nothing else.
“My job is to win,” Fields said, per Yahoo. “My job isn’t to be better than any quarterback. As long as we win, I’m doing my job the right way.”
The Bears will certainly love what Justin Fields said. After all, aside from the Super Bowl title, there’s nothing more that fans would want to see than Chicago destroying Aaron Rodgers.
Rodgers has tormented the Bears for more than a decade now. Since taking over the starting QB duties for the Packers in 2008, he has only lost five times against Chicago with an 18-5 record. Overall in his career, he is 20-5 against the men in orange–with their two meetings in 2020 ending in 41-25 and 35-16 wins for Green Bay as Rodgers threw a combined eight touchdowns in those contests.
Fields is now under the pressure of breaking that curse that has frustrated the fanbase for several years now, and by the looks of it, he has the right mentality and is ready for the challenge.
