The Chicago Bears are hoping to see some significant strides from Justin Fields in 2022. They've already added some talent at wide receiver to better help him develop, and the second-year quarterback gave a candid review of the team's receiving corps ahead of the campaign. Speaking with Bleacher Report, Fields admitted that while the Bears don't have a star wideout on the team, they're certainly good enough to make some noise in the NFC North.

“We don’t have an Odell [Beckham Jr.] or a Cooper Kupp on our team, but at the end of the day I think if everybody is on their P’s and Q’s, and we’re on top of everything and not making mistakes, the players we have right now are good enough,” Fields said. “The front office thinks that, too. The fans outside of the facility, they don’t know what’s going on at practice. Just because we don’t have a big-name guy, doesn’t mean those guys aren’t talented. I have plenty of confidence in myself and my teammates that we’re going to get the job done.”

The Bears acquired the likes of Byron Pringle and Equanimeous St. Brown in the offseason while drafting Velus Jones Jr. out of Tennessee in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft. While Fields didn't deny the team lacks starpower, he's certainly confident in what this group can accomplish with Darnell Mooney serving as the top target.

This will be a crucial year for Fields' development, and he's sticking up for Chicago's group of wideouts, which have been scrutinized by some for their lack of proven talent. In the eyes of Fields, it's not an issue.
