When the Chicago Bears selected Justin Fields with their first round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, they were obviously hoping he'd end up their franchise gunslinger.

The good news? In a limited amount of time with the former Ohio State gunslinger, Justin Fields is impressing the coaching staff in great haste.

In a Zoom meeting — because 2021! — quarterbacks coach John DeFilippo not only called him “very coachable,” but also gave the youngster some pretty rave reviews.

“Obviously we’ll know a lot more about Justin after this weekend [at rookie minicamp] in terms of where he’s at mentally and the way he processes and thinks and those things,” DeFilippo said, via Patrick Finley of the Chicago Sun-Times. “It’s hard to tell over Zoom until you really get your hands on a player. I think we’ll know a lot more after this weekend in terms of where he’s at from a mentally processing standpoint.”

As the head coach did previously, the QB coach wouldn't commit to a timeline regarding when fans could expect Just Fields to be the starting quarterback for the Bears. Given who they open up with this season, it'll likely be a wise idea to let Andy Dalton out there first, allowing the rookie to not get murdered by Aaron Donald.

Nevertheless, my Justin Fields stock is going to the moon!
