Throughout the week, there has been a fair amount of scrutiny on the health of All-Pro defensive Khalil Mack regarding his health as he's dealing with an ankle injury that he suffered against the Miami Dolphins.

Mack has been able to practice on a limited basis over the last few days that has put him on track to take the field for Sunday's game against the New England Patriots, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

This falls in line with the plan was likely for Mack as his availability for the game was never truly in doubt. It was him simply showing that he can get through practice. It appears that he has been able to get through that without any true limitations for him on the field that has him in line to take the field in a crucial matchup against the Patriots.

The Bears are looking to bounce back after a disappointing overtime loss to the Dolphins that has taken away some of the buzz created by their encouraging start to the season. Mack has been a major part of that step forward this year with his play performing like a legitimate Defensive Player of the year candidate as one of the game-changers and pass rushers at his position.

Mack has been off to an impressive start as he’s currently in the top 10 in the NFL with 5.0 sacks along with being tied for first with four forced fumbles while helping push the Bears to possess one of the better defenses in the league. His presence will be key to disrupting Tom Brady and the Patriots offense that has put up more than 35 points in each of the last three straight games. His play could be indicative how the flow of the matchup with Chicago looking to grab a statement win at home.
