Chicago Bears linebacker Khalil Mack is only 28 years old but he knows that the clock is already clicking and they need to win now. When Mack was with the Oakland Raiders early in his career he was told over and over again by Charles Woodson and Justin Tuck how quickly their career went by, and how important it is to take advantage of the chances to win.

‘‘You’re running out of time, man,’’ Mack said via the Chicago Sun Times. ‘‘All these older dudes let us know at an early point in my career, man, we ain’t got no time to waste.’’

Mack has racked up a ton of individual honors during his career but that means nothing to him if the team isn't winning meaningful games.

‘Absolutely,’’ he said. ‘‘You’ve gotta win. Gotta win now.’’

Mack's comments are different from a lot around the Bears who think this is just the beginning of their window to try and win a Super Bowl. The Raiders in 2016 had a 12-4 record but a first-round exit from the playoffs made Mack want more, and it's something that never happened in Oakland.

Much like the Bears last season they had a great regular season but an early exit in the playoffs has made Mack want more and he knows it can't be taken for granted.

Nothing guarantees the Bears are going to be good this year and make the playoffs and that is why Mack knows the team needs to take advantage of every chance they get.
