Howie Long and Kyle Long are part of a special NFL story. The Long family might have lost one member to retirement recently, but they might be getting another back. Defensive end Chris Long elected to retire earlier this offseason, leaving Bears offensive lineman Kyle Long as the last remaining Long currently in the NFL.

But if Kyle's to be believed, it sounds like their dad is in shape for a comeback. The Chicago guard tweeted out this morning that he had been doing some drills with their dad, legendary pass-rusher Howie Long. Kyle joked that his dad “can still play.”

Obviously, Kyle was kidding, but it's fun to imagine. Long is 59 now and hasn't played since 1993, so it's pretty impressive that he's still in such good shape. A second-round pick back in 1981, Howie spent 13 seasons with the Oakland and Los Angeles Raiders. He made eight Pro Bowls and five All-Pro teams during his illustrious career, and also won Super Bowl XVIII.

Both of his sons carved out great careers in the league, and Chris just retired after having won two of the past three Super Bowls. Kyle is still only 30, so he should still have a handful of years left if he wants to keep playing. A three-time Pro Bowler himself, Kyle has been hampered by injuries the past few seasons but remains one of the league's best guards when healthy.

Howie now works as a commentator for FOX, but it sounds like he's capable of providing some veteran pass-rushing help if there's a team in need. The Villanova product finished with 84 career sacks.
