Chicago Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky hasn't been impressing many with his play this season, but coach Matt Nagy has seen some improvement in the last couple of weeks.

“I’m going to go back to what I really like — and what I’m sticking to and what I believe in — is the last two weeks, he’s growing in the right direction,” Nagy said via the Chicago Sun Times. “So that’s where we’re at and . . . we want to put a good week together, get him healthy and hopefully get him out there this weekend to do it again.”

Statistically, he has improved a little the last two weeks, but it's hard to get much worse than what he did against the Philadelphia Eagles three weeks ago.

Against the Eagles, the Bears had the worst half in Bears franchise history, and he finished the game throwing for only 125 yards. He has finished with more yards each of the last two weeks but he still hasn't finished with more than 200 yards passing.

Nagy knows there is still more Truibsky can do, and the team still has a lot of growing to do, but he likes the improvements in the decision making for Trubisky.

“We’ve all put in a lot of time and energy and hard work to get where we’re at, [but] we’re not where we want to be,” Nagy said. “But I’ll say this: The last two weeks . . . he has, without a doubt, gotten a lot better at the quarterback position. Decision-making, throws — where he’s at the last two weeks has been a lot better.”

The Bears face the New York Giants on Sunday and if Trubisky can't have success against that defense, all hope might be lost.
