The Chicago Bears brought in Nick Foles this offseason with most believing it was to replace Mitch Trubisky, but according to Matt Nagy, each guy is going to get their fair shot.

This offseason is a little different with a lot of in-person time taken away from the players. Nagy knows that might play in a role in the battle for the starting quarterback, but he also knows he is going to give each player a fair shot.

There will be no agendas going into the competition, with the best player stepping away as the Bears starting quarterback:

“Mitch isn’t gonna be able to do it (in the spring), and Nick isn’t gonna be able to do it,” Nagy said via Albert Breer of Sports Ilustrated. “So it’s gonna be very important, in whatever time we’re given—it’s just a fact, there’s just not going to be as much time for that to naturally happen—for us to see it. It’ll all play itself out. And because there’s zero agendas in this thing, because there’s complete honesty, it’s very healthy. Credit to both of these guys, Mitch and Nick, they’re both really good people.”

When Foles was traded from the Jacksonville Jaguars to the Bears. he made it clear he came for one reason and that was to win the starting quarterback job. Foles also told Nagy that he was coming to help Trubisky get better, which shows no matter what he is going to be a team-first player.

There might not be an agenda with this quarterback battle, but it's hard to imagine that Foles doesn't have the upper hand right now.
