The Chicago Bears have not been a good offensive team. This is not a secret. However, head coach Matt Nagy has a history of making things work on offense. And on Friday, he hinted at some major changes on that side of the ball going into 2020:

“We’ve spent this whole offseason now looking at scheme evaluation and just taking a look at the ‘why’ part behind our offense and why it was so sluggish,” Nagy said, via the Bears' team website. “It’s not just one reason. There are several reasons. The beauty for us is that we think we know what some of those answers are. Some of it is players, some of it is scheme, some of it is execution. But what’s good for us is that we know that we can get a lot better. And all of us as competitors can’t wait to get back out there so that we can do that and show everybody what our plan is. It starts with Mitch (Trubisky) and I think he’s excited for that opportunity. As I know Nick (Foles) is as well.”

Who Will Bears Start at QB in 2020?

The Bears acquired Foles in a trade with the Jacksonville Jaguars last month. It could signal the end of Trubisky's run as the starting quarterback in Chicago.

Nothing is set in stone just yet. But based on how poorly Trubisky played in 2019 and the tone of general manager Ryan Pace when discussing the situation for next season, it seems like Trubisky's days as the starter are over.

Will Foles provide a solution? No one really knows for sure.

Foles has never started a full 16-game campaign in his NFL career. Furthermore, he lost his job to sixth-round rookie Gardner Minshew in Jacksonville this past year.

Also, the Bears' offensive talent in general is certainly not elite. So it remains to be seen if Chicago's offense is really all that much different come Week 1.
