When the Chicago Bears took Mitchell Trubisky with the second pick in the 2017 draft they knew success wasn't going to come overnight. One year later John Fox is out as coach and in is Matt Nagy and the expectations haven't changed.

Nagy has high expectations of what can happen with Trubisky and the Bears but also knows that there needs to be patient because there is still going to be a lot of inconsistency.

“For our offense, this thing is not going to happen overnight,” Nagy said via the Chicago Tribune. “They understand that. We as coaches understand that. It’s going to take time. We’re building it. You have to temper that a little bit. You can’t expect to come out and it just take off right away. That is a part of this process. But as long as you stay patient with it and don’t get frustrated, you’ll be all right.”

The Bears are just opening up training camp and there have already been reports about how inconsistent Trubisky has been. He makes a couple of good throws and then makes a couple bad throws, which isn't all that odd for a quarterback that is young.

The Bears have put the pieces around Trubisky to be successful and now he just needs to take that next step forward. What exactly the Bears do this year is going to be based on how well their young quarterback plays. There is no question there will be some questionable decisions by Trubisky through the season and the goal is to try and limit them as the year goes on.
