After sneaking into the 2021 playoffs, Matt Nagy and the Chicago Bears had their Super Bowl dreams shot down early against the New Orleans Saints on Wild Card weekend.

The Bears couldn't muster anything on offense against the Saints, scoring only three before a last-second touchdown brought their total for the game to nine points. They lost in the end with a 21-9 scoreline.

Nagy has been rumored to be on the hot seat since the Bears' mid-season struggles and overall rollercoaster of a season. Chicago started the campaign 5-1, then lost six straight before winning three of their last four contests to just squeak into the playoffs.

Although Nagy managed to get the Bears into the playoffs, the season was still a rather disappointing one. With that said, there are those thinking whether Nagy's time in Chicago is over.

For his part, Nagy himself hasn't even considered it. When asked about his job security in the post-game press conference, he said that it is something that he could think about tomorrow. His priority was solely focused on winning their playoff matchup.

“We haven't gotten into any of that in regards to that stuff,” Matt Nagy said after the Bears' loss to the Saints, per NFL.com. “Like I told y'all at the beginning of the week, we've been so focused in on this game, and then the same thing goes with the staff. It's probably not just our staff, it's probably a lot of staffs; whether it's promotions or demotions or whatever, there's always change, that's just how it goes.

“So, that's something that tomorrow for us, as a team, we'll do all of our exit interviews and all of that stuff and talk to the guys, but that'll be down the road. I'm just at a point right now where I could literally say I just appreciate the fight of these players and tomorrow we'll discuss the other stuff.”

Since the Bears went 12-4 and won the NFC North in 2018, they have failed to repeat the feat. Their defense has remained competitive, but they haven't been able to become a consistent offensive team.

A good majority of the blame has been put on the lack of reliability at quarterback, but Nagy's job isn't necessarily safe after another first-round exit.

Chicago has a lot to think about this offseason. Will they have a new quarterback? A new head coach? Both? Time will only tell.
