The Chicago Bears' offense put together a troubling performance in their 36-25 loss to the New Orleans Saints. While the final score didn't quite suggest it, they used garbage time to put up more points.

With under 13 minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, the Bears' offense managed to produce a mere 94 total yards of offense and gained only four first downs. They managed to score some late touchdowns to raise their scoring total from 10 points but that doesn't change the fact that they trailed 36-10 with 4:33 left to play.

Despite the underachieving display from the offense, head coach Matt Nagy stated that he is ‘still committed' to starting Mitchell Trubisky at quarterback, according to Jeff Dickerson of ESPN.

The Bears had significant struggles with their running game as they recorded 17 rushing yards on seven attempts. That made it more difficult for Trubisky, or anyone who would have been playing quarterback for Chicago. However, he has continued to be unable to shoulder the load as the offense's main engine through his personal performance.

There were numerous instances when Trubisky missed open receivers and that is the main issue with his development. He has failed to improve enough at making reads and doing so quickly and that has resulted in underwhelming, low scoring outings for the Bears. He significantly reduces his team's ceiling by not making progress in this area.

While the Bears' defense has been quite impactful throughout the season, the offense has let them down time and time again. It seems that the Bears will have to make changes to their roster in the offseason to jump-start what has been an underachieving offense.
