The Chicago Bears won 12 games and captured the NFC North division title this past season, but their season ended in heartbreak, as they fell to the Philadelphia Eagles by a score of 16-15 in the Wild Card Round of the playoffs.

The fashion in which the Bears lost was truly gut-wrenching, as Cody Parkey had what would have been a game-winning field goal tipped, causing the ball to ricochet off the upright and then bounce off the crossbar and back on to the field.

Parkey is no longer a member of the team, but memories of Chicago's loss remain, and head coach Matt Nagy wants it that way.

“We’re a young team and we’ve tried to build this culture and let them understand how important it is that we stay together and that we learn from our mistakes,” Nagy said in the booth at a Chicago Cubs game on Wednesday. “Last year it ends up being a loss to Philly at home, and that’s not good enough. So our guys are hungry. We talk about remember the hurt, we talk about don’t get complacent.”

Overall, Nagy's first season with the Bears was a smash success, as he led Chicago to the playoffs for the first time since the 2010-11 campaign and also achieved the franchise's highest win total since it won 13 games back during the 2006-07 season.

But obviously, Nagy wants to do a whole lot more in 2019.

With an improving offense and a stellar defense, the Bears should be legitimate Super Bowl threats this year.
