Chicago Bears head coach Matt Nagy doesn't think Mitchell Trubisky and Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes should be compared. Trubisky was selected No. 2 overall in the 2017 NFL Draft, while Mahomes was selected with the No. 10 pick.

The Bears are 1-1 and are continuing to improve under the leadership of their first-year head coach. The Chiefs are 2-0 and have one of the most exciting offenses in the NFL. Nagy believes the two quarterbacks' situations are too drastically different to compare their talents and success.

“Well, what's fair to compare is you have one in Patrick, who has had a full year in this offense to understand it,” Nagy told reporters. “Now, regardless of playing it, he's had a full year — more than a year — to sit behind it and learn and understand and watch tape with those quarterbacks last year, and get to see all the talk, all the discussions of where you go to on this play and that play, whereas Mitchell hasn't had that.”

While it's true that Trubisky has more in-game experience, Mahomes has been working with offensive mastermind Andy Reid to assert himself in the Chiefs' system. Trubisky has a different coaching staff from the one he worked under last year, so he may need a little longer to adjust.

Trubisky has thrown for 371 yards and two touchdowns in his first two weeks this season. He also has a rushing score. On the other hand, Mahomes has thrown for 582 yards and 10 touchdowns, without a single interception. The Chiefs definitely have the better offensive weapons of the two teams, so Trubisky has less to work with. The season is young, but it doesn't look like these two quarterbacks are in the same class right now.

In Week 3, the Bears will take on a struggling 0-2 Arizona Cardinals, who have had one of the least productive offenses and defenses in the league this year. They will likely be a good stepping stone for Trubisky to continue to gain confidence.
