When the Chicago Bears signed running back Mike Davis in free agency, he was expected by many to be their featured running back going into this season. That has hardly been the case.

As a matter of fact, Davis has hardly even been used.

The veteran has carried the ball just 11 times for 25 yards on the season, and since Week 4, he has touched the ball just three times, with all of those touches coming in Week 8.

But here's the catch: when the Bears signed Davis to a two-year, $6 million deal, it cancelled out the fourth-round compensatory draft pick they were supposed to receive after safety Adrian Amos walked to the Green Bay Packers.

If Chicago cuts Davis before Week 10, it will be able to recoup that pick.

Davis' days in the Windy City may be numbered, but he isn't letting it get to him:

“Thinking of something like that is negative,” Davis said, according to 670 The Score. “I really don’t care about outside voices or whatever comes with it. All I can do is come up, show up every day, be a great teammate and be ready to go, no matter what happens.”

Of course, Davis has certainly not been the Bears' only issue this season.

Many are questioning Matt Nagy's decision making, Mitchell Trubisky has regressed, the offensive line has been porous and even the defense has taken a step back.

Chicago has lost four straight games and is now just 3-5 on the year. It will take on the Detroit Lions on Sunday.
